Who’s Got NEXT?
Pasadena’s Girls 14U NEXT team, Rose City FC, placed 2nd in the 2023 Camarillo Cup Club Invitational.
NEXT Scrimmages & Select Tournament Teams
NEXT is an opportunity for 10U, 12U, and 14U players to play more soccer.
- It starts in the fall with enthusiastic kids who want a challenge getting together on Sundays to play a scrimmage.
- As the fall season progresses, coaches will arrange scrimmages with teams from around Southern California
- In December, there are two tournaments, including the prestigious Sportsmanship Cup in Beverly Hills
- In the Spring, the NEXT group will practice up to twice a week and travel to compete in tournaments in exotic places like Glendale, Diamond Bar, Culver City, Huntington Beach, and more.
NEXT is open to all players who love soccer, and are seeking advanced play with friendly teammates. Coaches will form competitive rosters for each tournament from players participating in NEXT practices, not all players will be able to participate in every tournament.
NEXT will depend on volunteer coaches to organize teams.
If you’re interested, go to your inLeague Family Profile, click “Update Registration” next to your name, and be sure to check the “NEXT – additional games for enthusiastic players” box.

More Info
- To participate in NEXT, players must participate in their regular Core team’s weekly training and Saturday matches. In the fall, there are no extra practices during the week for NEXT. In the spring, there may be one or two practices per week, depending on the team’s schedule.
- To organize a scrimmage, register with the SoCal tournament teams list, and you’ll receive access to the directory of teams.
- Join the Soccer Scrimmages Whatsapp group to connect with other coaches. “Who wants to scrimmage a region-level co-ed 2013s team next Saturday? We have a field on Sunday afternoon and 2 officials.”
- Certified Core program coaches and refs will lead games. All teams playing in NEXT must have a properly-certified coach, all players must be current AYSO members.
- Any certified 10U, 12U, or 14U coach may assemble a team and/or a pool of players in their division. Players whose parents volunteer to referee will have priority for selection.
- Teams may play scrimmages or go to AYSO tournaments. Region 13 will loan uniform sets for tournaments. Tournaments cost about $70 per player.
