Fall 2025 Standings
How Standings Work
League standings are kept for the 10U, 12U, 14U, and B16U House League divisions. Referees report game results which include referee participation and sporting behavior. For Area Upper Division standings, check ayso1c.org.
Teams are divided into pools and compete in a round-robin format throughout the season. They also play teams in other pools. Teams earn 3 Field Points for a win and 1 Field Point for a tie. The team with the most Field Points in each pool is the pool champion.
End of Season Standings
Standings are used to determine a team’s seeding into the Rose City Cup, our end-of-season play-offs, and to send teams to the Area 1C League Playoffs.
While teams are divided into pools for scheduling, end-of-season standings are calculated across the entire division.
To be eligible for post-season play, a team must have earned the minimum number of referee points. These may vary season-to-season. Contact the Referee Administrator.
Standings are calculated as follows:
- Field Points (e.g., wins, draws, and losses)
- Sportsmanship Points
- Head-to-Head Winner (if it occured)
- Fewest Goals Allowed
- Coin Toss
Field points and goal calculations are pro-rated if teams played an uneven number of games (due to a rain-out or other league game cancellations).
Regular Season Champions:
The first-place team in each division earns the right to represent Region 13 in the Area 1-C League Playoffs against other Regions in the San Gabriel Valley. Each division winner will join the Area Playoffs regardless of their performance in the Rose City Cup.

Rose City Cup
For more details on the Rose City Cup, visit its webpage.
Regular seasons standings, taken across the entire division and as noted above, are used to group teams into flights. We use flights to ensure we can complete a single-elimination tournament in a short amount of time for the Rose City Cup.
The Rose City Cup schedule will vary from year to year based on the calendar, number of teams, and field availability.
The top flight (or “A” flight) winner will proceed to the Area 1C Playoffs, joining the regular season champion. If the Rose City Cup champion and Regular Season champion are the same team, then the second-place team in the Rose City Cup will proceed to the Area 1C Playoffs.
Depending on the division, there may be a “B” or “C” flight as well. Teams in these division will play a full tournament to declare a flight champion. Teams in the B or C flights’ seasons will conclude at the end of the Rose City Cup.
