Registration Facts & Information

Can my child have the same coach as last year?

Not except by luck, because coaches are assigned to teams as part of the blind draw process.

Can my child play on the same team as a friend or sibling?

Teams are selected using a blind draw method which means that friends may or may not be on the same team. Siblings of the same sex and division are always placed on the same team unless requested otherwise by a parent.

How do I register?

Full details about registration in AYSO Region 13 are available on the Registration page.

You must pre-register online, by logging on to www.eayso.org and filling out the pre-registration information for each player and yourself as a volunteer. Follow the directions carefully and make sure you print out the required forms and receipt to bring with you to the registration. Complete instructions about the online process are available at the eAYSO website.

Filling out the information on eAYSO does not complete the registration process. You must still submit the registration forms in person to Region 13 at one of the registration days, which are listed on the calendar, along with your registration fees. You will not be able to pay registration fees online.

If you do not submit your registration forms by the last registration day, we cannot guarantee that your child will be placed on a team. Contact our registrar at registrar@ayso13.org for information about late registration.

What do I need to bring to registration?

When you have completed online pre-registration, collect the following items, and bring them with you to complete your registration in person:

  • Copy of the birth certificate for every player not registered/played before in Region 13
  • One copy of each eAYSO player pre-registration form
  • One copy of each eAYSO volunteer pre-registration form
  • Driver’s license or other picture identification for each volunteer to be registered
  • Payment-credit card, check or cash
  • Payment form (provided by Region 13 on registration day)

How much does it cost to register?

Registration at the March early registration for coaches, referees and team managers only: discounted registration fee of $120 for the first player and $110 for every other player from the same family. To register on this date, your volunteer registration form must indicate “team coach”, “referee” or “team manager”.

Registration at the April and May walk-in dates is $135 (first child) and $110 for each additional sibling.

Registration after May 12: $150 per player (no discount for additional siblings).

How do I request a refund?

The current refund policy can be found on our Refund Policy page.

What is the Region 13 returned check policy?

All returned checks will be charged a service fee of $25.00. The child or children involved will not be permitted to participate in the program until this fee plus registration fees are paid in full to the Treasurer.

How old does my child have to be to play?

A player’s AYSO age is his or her age on July 31. We place players in divisions by age (no exceptions), as follows (there is no upper age limit for players with special needs in the V.I.P. program).

Do boys and girls play together?

No, Boys and Girls of all ages will play in separate divisions.

How do I register for the Youth Development Program (YDP)?

YDP is now only offered in the Spring (March to May). Registration will be announced on the website, and there will be a walk-in registration at the Clubhouse. For more information on the YDP program please see the YDP article or select the “Programs” menu item and once on the Programs page, select the Youth Development Program (YDP) link.

When will I know which team my child is on?

A call from your child’s coach will alert you to his or her placement on a team. If you have not heard from a coach by September 1, please contact the division coach listed on the Coaching Staff page for your child’s division. Do not call before September 1, as such calls consume a great deal of volunteer time that we should devote to team formation and planning for the playing season. Practices do not begin till after Labor Day Weekend.

How can I be sure that my child will practice at a time and place that is convenient for us?

The only way to choose the day or location of your child’s practice is to volunteer as the Head Coach of your child’s team.

Coaches are assigned a practice time and location based on a request form that they fill out prior to the start of practices. Remember that your child’s coach is putting significant time and effort into the team. So, please make every effort to accommodate the assignment. Please try to resolve any problem with your child’s practice assignment by carpooling or otherwise working it out with teammates. It is generally not possible to change to another team. Such changes cause a great deal of work for the Division Coach and usually require that another player be moved from the team that your child would be going to.

How much will my child play?

Every player in Divisions U6 – U14 is guaranteed to play a minimum of 3/4 of every game. The guarantee in U16 and U19 is 1/2 of every game.

How can I learn more about soccer?

The BEST way is by becoming more involved as a Coach, Referee, Team Manager or Board Member. We need many volunteers for a wide variety of jobs. Please contact the appropriate member of the Board of Directors for more information.

Who do I contact with questions regarding my child’s team, coach or practice time?

Refer to the Coaching Staff page of this web site to find the Division Coach for your child’s gender and age group. The Board page lists all Executive Board Members whom you may want to contact as appropriate.

What should I do if we may be moving out of the area or otherwise be unable to have my child participate?

Register anyway now to reserve a spot on a team and stay in touch with the Registrar if you change your address or will be needing a refund.

What if I don’t hear from a coach?

A call from your child’s coach will alert you to his or her placement on a team. If you have not heard from a coach by September 1, please contact the division coach listed on the Coaching Staff page for your child’s division. Do not call before September 1, as such calls consume a great deal of volunteer team that we should devote to team formation and planning for the playing season. Practices do not begin till after Labor Day Weekend.

My child is Physically or Mentally challenged. Is there a way that they can play also?

Yes. We have a VIP program for those children that are physically or mentally challenged. It is a very positive and rewarding experience for both players and coaches. There is a box on the player registration to indicate that you wish to have your child placed in the VIP program.

What if my registration question isn’t answered here?

If your registration specific question is not answered by one of these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or on the Registration page, then email your question directly to the Registrar at registrar@ayso13.org.

What forms of payment are accepted for registration?

We accept cash and checks for registration. Please make checks out to AYSO Region 13.

Why is registration held so early?

Here are just a few of the reasons registration is held in the spring.

  • Early registration permits as many players who want to register to get on teams and play.
  • Early registration gives us time to secure field permits for practices and games. We compete with other groups for fields, so need to secure the permits months ahead of time.
  • Early registration allows multiple clinics to be scheduled and coaches and referees to be certified.
  • Early registration gives us enough time to purchase the correct number of uniforms and other equipment.
  • Early registration gives us enough time to form balanced teams.
  • Early registration gives us enough time to schedule a season’s worth of games for over 250 teams.

What is online pre-registration?

The online pre-registration system, e-AYSO, is set up by AYSO National and allows you to pre-register your children online for Region 13 as well as register yourself as a volunteer. This dramatically speeds up the Walk-In Registration process and helps alleviate mistakes found on the handwritten forms.

How do I know if I pre-registered correctly?

If you pre-registered correctly, we will have your information. If you are not sure, go to the e-AYSO website, log-in with your user-name and password, click on “Player” and you will see your child’s name. If you do not see your child’s name, your pre-regisatration is not complete and you need to make sure you pre-register correctly.
